Alicia Silverstone is a 42-year old American movie actress. She became famous as a teenager in 1995 with her breakout film Clueless. She went on to star in the big-budget Hollywood film Batman & Robin playing Batgirl. Sadly, she won a Razzie award for her Batgirl role. She has spent most of her career supporting animal rights. She is a vegan and has endorsed PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).
In 2005, she married her long-time love Christopher Jarecki. Jarecki is a rock and roll musician currently hosting his own radio show on GTFU radio. He is also a vegan and supporter of animal rights.
In 2011, Silverstone gave birth to their only child, Bear Blu Jarecki.
In February of 2018, the couple separated and filed for divorce.
In December of 2018, the divorce was finalized and included a cohabitation clause regarding spousal support.
In California, spousal support is awarded to one spouse if needed, and the other spouse can afford to pay. This provides the supported spouse the opportunity to remain in the same life style as when he/she was married. Spousal support is awarded for a specific period of time. When that time passes, the case is finalized, and the court can no longer control the case. However, in a long-term marriage (usually defined in California as ten years or longer), unless both parties request otherwise, the court can maintain jurisdiction of the case. That means, if necessary, a judge can grant spousal support to a party needing support for as long as necessary.
In the Silverstone/Jarecki marriage, Silverstone was the major breadwinner. Their marriage lasted 13 years, thus recognized as a long-term marriage. Jarecki requested spousal support and support was agreed upon in an unusual form:

“Alicia and Chris have agreed on a cohabitation clause. It means she will stop paying Chris if he shacks up with someone for 5 months within a 1-year period. Normally, spousal support has to pay until the other person gets married.” This agreement can prevent Jarecki from continuing to receive support while maintaining a long-term marital-type relationship with someone else.
The divorce was finalized in November of 2018, and again, according to documents obtained by TMZ, Silverstone will pay Jarecki $12,000 per month in spousal support. They will share joint physical and legal custody of their son Bear.
