Divorce rates by State

According to a recent U.S. Census Bureau report, the States with thelowest rates of divorce are (1) New Jersey, (2) Minnesota, (3) Masachusetts, (4) New York, and (5) Pennsylvania. The States with the highest rates of divorce are (1) Alaska, (2) Arkansas, (3) Oklahoma, (4) Kentucky, and (5) Nevada.

The Census Bureau attributed the lower rates of divorce in the Northeast of the U.S. in part to delayed marriage in that area, compared with other parts of the country, such as in the Southern states where people are more likely to get married at a younger age.
